Titans Tower was dead silent… almost dead silent. It was midnight, and everyone was asleep… or,  at least, they should be. They all had an intense training session tomorrow, so they definitely should be. However, the sound of one of the many doors opening proved it was not silent, and that not everyone was asleep.

Groggily, Starfire stumbled out of her room with nothing but the pink pyjamas on her back, and pushed herself off the floor. She did not want to wake up the other titans. All she wanted was a glass of hot milk to calm her nerves.

Stifling a yawn, Starfire floated gracefully through the corridors and manoeuvred effortlessly around the various objects, until she reached the common area. Then she stopped right in her tracks.

Only a few metres away from her, sat Robin. He was on the circular couch, laptop on his lap and still very much awake. But that wasn’t what caught Starfire off guard. It was the fact that his mask was laying right next him. She had never seen his eyes, but she was very eager to.

“R-Robin?” Starfire squeaked and gently dropped onto the floor with a soft thud. He didn’t hear her. He was so pre-occupied with whatever files he was researching, that he didn’t even notice Starfire walk towards him until she prodded his shoulder from behind.
“Wh-“ On a defensive instinct, he spun around, and for a split second, Starfire caught a glimpse of piercing blue. In that split second, Robin seemed to quickly realise what he had done and whipped his head back around and snatched his mask, hastily smacking it over his eyes and turning back to face her with a nervous smile etched onto his face. Starfire frowned, but said nothing.

“St-Star! what are you doing up?” Robin spluttered, clumsily placing his laptop to his side as Starfire climbed over and collapsed next to him.
“I-I- it doesn’t matter. Why are you not asleep?” Starfire countered, attempting to turn the conversation away from her. She did NOT want to tell Robin the reason why she was here. He would laugh or just simply tell her not to worry about it! If Starfire’s past few weeks of restless nights proved anything, it was that she could not stop worrying.
“I’m Robin, Star.” he smirked, “The ex-sidekick of Batman? I hardly sleep.”
“Oh, uh yes, of course. How silly of me…” mumbled Starfire as she dropped her gaze to her hands in embarrassment. Robin frowned and furrowed his brow in concern. This was very unusual behaviour for Starfire, and he didn’t like it.

“Is everything alright? you’ve been acting very strange lately.” he asked suspiciously, staring at Starfire right in the eyes as if he was trying to read her. She was unreadable and alarmingly silent. It was true though.  For the past few weeks, Starfire had been… different. She wasn’t her bright and bubbly usual self, and she was very glum. Not to mention the fact that she hardly engaged with anyone, including Robin! her best friend.

“Kori?” that snapped her out of whatever trance she was trapped in.
“Y-yes?”
“Are you okay?”
“Y-yes… do you do this every night?” Starfire asked absentmindedly, again turning the conversation away from her. It worked.
“Uh yeah, sort of. Sometimes I go out alone if there’s something reported-“
“Alone?” it started to sound like Starfire’s fears were coming true.
“Yes…” Robin was puzzled tremendously. Starfire looked and sounded so scared, but no matter how hard he thought, he couldn’t think of a plausible reason why!

“W-why?” Starfire stammered, and locked her eyes onto Robins masked ones. He was almost certain that she was holding back what would be a waterfall of tears. So, who could blame him when he chose his words carefully?
“W-well, uh… I guess because everything is changing…” Starfire’s heart sunk. She had to fight back her tears and gulp down her sobs. This is what she dreaded. Change. “Like Cy for example. I’m pretty sure he’s gonna join the league very soon. They seem very keen on his technology - and then there’s Beast Boy and Raven! They’ve been together for what? 2 or 3 years? they’re most likely gonna go live somewhere, alone, where they can be themselves…” Robin paused and drew in a sharp breath. He just begun to realise why Starfire had been acting the way she had. He sighed as an immense pang of guilt took over him.
“I-I guess, what I’m trying to say is, basically I’m starting to move on too…”

Starfire refused to let her tears fall. She couldn’t cry. Not in front of him. The boy- no, the man she loved. The man that she was only friends with. The man who she had not revealed her true feelings to. The man that was slowly drifting away from her reach could not see her cry about something so selfish and stupid.
“I-I see,“ Starfire stood up and faked a yawn, “excuse me, I fear I have been overcome by exhau-“ The warm touch of Robins hands curling around her wrist cut her off. It took everything she had to stop herself from breaking down right there on the spot.

“Kori, I’m sorry about this, I really am. But it’s bound to happen eventually.” he pulled her back down, and thats when the tears began to delicately cascade down her flushing cheeks.
“I don’t want it to happen,” she managed to say as Robin pulled off his glove and cupped her face, wiping the tears away with his thumb. Robin didn’t say anything. A part of him agreed with her. A part of him disagreed, thinking it was good for a big change. But mostly, he just hated himself for  even doing this. He loved Starfire, ever since she first uttered his name. But he knew love wasn’t a thing he should share. He was a hero after all. He had thought that maybe if he separated himself from the team, it would be easier to leave, and maybe lose his romantic feeling towards the alien. But now… now he was having second thoughts.

“We’re family, aren’t we Robin?” Starfire’s eyes were glistening and wide, and her tears slowed. For now.
“What?” Robin scoffed, “Of course we are Kori!” the Tamaranian’s lips formed into a slight, soft smile, before it suddenly fell into a frown.
“Then why is everything changing? Why do you wish to leave?” her hands gripped his wrists, but his did not leave her face. “Why must you leave me?”

Robins heart dropped dramatically at her words. If only she knew how he truly felt for her… he wanted to tell her, more than anything. He really did… but, Robin knew it would only make this so much harder. For both of them, not just him.
“I-I have to.” he lied.

Starfire did not believe him. She refused to believe him.
“Dick,” she cooed, the name foreign on her tongue since Robin usually prevented her from saying his true name. “please do not do this-“
“Kori,” he muttered in a warning tone, but she did not listen,
“-Dick, please! I-I love you.”

It was very rare for Robin to be at a lost for words. So rare, that it had only happened once before, when Starfire kissed him the first time they met. But now, it was for a completely different reason. Those three words were definitely not what he had expected to hear. Ever. And yet, he just had, and he had no idea how to react. Those three little words both broke and mended his heart all at once. What was he to do exactly?

“Robin?” Starfire’s timid voice sounded quietly, as if she was too afraid to properly speak. His silence scared her. Had she angered him? embarrassed him? maybe even scared him?

Did she just lose her best friend?

“I’m sorry,” she dropped her hands and craned her face out of his grasp, unable to hold back her tears, “I should not have spoken-“

Robin’s warm, intoxicating lips cut her off mid-sentence. He somehow manage to embrace her so quickly, that she didn’t even notice it until their mouthes were atop one another, his hand buried into her ruby locks, and the other resting into the small of her back and pulling her close. But once she did, Starfire couldn’t help but respond in the best way she could; by kissing him back.

Her body shuffled ever so slightly, and her legs straddled his waist eagerly. Robin allowed himself to smile under Starfire’s divine lips. Sitting there now, with the love of his life in his lap and in his arms, he realised that this was what he wanted more than anything. Hence, he no longer felt the need to leave or change. He only felt an intense need for Starfire, and nothing else. Starfire was all he needed and wanted. He realised he could be happy anywhere, as long as he was with Starfire.

“Kori,” Robin gasped seconds after the two broke apart for a much needed breath of fresh air. “I love you too -“ the most beautiful smile Robin had ever seen formed onto Starfire’s red lips, “I always have,” Starfire’s smile beamed, and her tears drew to an end, “and I always will.” And then suddenly, Starfire was staring into the mesmerising blue eyes of Dick Grayson.

“…X’hal!” was all she could think of to say.

It may have been the kiss, or the confession of love, but Starfire was convinced his eyes were the most beautiful in the world - no, the universe.
“X’hal?” Robin chuckled uncertainly, throwing the mask to the side as if it was trash, “That’s a good thing, right?”

His answer was another kiss. Robin took that as a yes.

Snaking her arms around Robins neck, Starfire squirmed and shuffled as close as she could. Consequently, their chests brushed against one another. To Robin it felt quite nice… heck, it felt great for Starfire too.

“Robin-“
“Call me Dick.”
This was the change Starfire liked.

Robin didn’t think it was possible, but Starfire’s smile grew even more beautiful at the sound of his words.
“-Dick,” she began, “I believe we are now the girlfriend and boyfriend?” she said sweetly, her hands running down his chest and resting on the ‘R’. She felt it rise as he let out a rare but mesmerising laugh.
“Ah Kori, I love you.” he chuckled at his new girlfriend’s innocence, and planted a soft kiss on her fore-head and pulled her in for a warm and loving embrace. This, was a yes.
“I am most glad.” Starfire grinned.

Their short kiss was amazing, but this… this was more. Robin could smell the alien’s shampoo. Starfire could hear the boy wonder’s heart beating underneath his chest. They had never felt this close until now.

The new couple sat like that for what felt like hours, until Starfire could no longer suppress a yawn.
“Tired of me already?” Robin teased, inching a few centimetres away to stare into her luminescent emerald eyes. Only, he couldn’t, because… they were closed.

With a smirk, Robin carefully unwrapped Starfire’s arms from his neck, afraid to wake her, and lifted her off his lap and rested her down onto the couch. He stood up, and stared down at the orange beauty in awe. How did I ever become so lucky? he asked himself, still in disbelief as he hooked his arms underneath her body and picked her up bridal style. She stirred, but did not wake.

Silently, Robin weaved through the halls of the tower, extremely cautious not to wake the others up  until he reached the door of Starfire’s scarily pink room. With Starfire still in his arms, Robin elbowed the key pad and the door opened not-so-subtly. He cringed at the loud noise, but breathed a sigh of relief when he found no sign of disturbance.

It was pitch-black. Robin was thankful for Starfire’s tidy room as he carefully made his way to her bed. Gently, he lay the Tamaranean onto her bed, his hand slowly and softly dipping her head into her pillow and his arms scooping her legs away from the edge. His eyes began to adjust, and that was when he saw her at her cutest. He only just noticed what she was wearing. Pink fluffy pyjamas with light pink polka dots.

Robin never realised how much he liked pink until now.

Smiling to himself, the ebony-haired boy whispered a soft “Good night.” before leaning down and placing a gentle, bittersweet short kiss onto the alien’s addicting lips. Only, he held it there because well, he didn’t really have a choice. Starfire had once again curled her arms around his neck and pulled him closer in for a deeper, more passionate kiss that she wouldn’t let go of so quickly. Not that Robin minded, of course.

“Dick Grayson,” Starfire breathed heavily, her eyes glistening with lust “You’re not going anywhere.”

And he didn’t.
Finally did one of Robstar! I have been wanting to do one for ages, but couldn't think up of a good idea. I SERIOUSLY HAD SO MUCH TROUBLE WRITING THIS URGH :P This one isn't good either, but it's the best I have though of XD I know it's rushed and messy, but I write these for my enjoyment to make me happy okay? okay :)

But uh yeah. This is sorta an AU where they are a bit older (late teens) and are getting ready to leave :3 so in this, Rob and Star have not kissed at all (except for their first encounter) so Tokyo don't really exist in this :3 oh and the ending is left for you to  decide what happens :3 (hehe comment what you think happens dudes)

I HOPE YOU LIKE IT!
FAVE/COMMENT/WATCH ME FOR MORE YOO
