Her eyes fluttered open, and then quickly fell shut. She let out a soft groan.

The sun was just beginning to shine through the curtains as the alien slipped her hands around the boy’s bare and toned torso. It was too early. Way too early. And too soon. She nuzzled her head into the crook between his shoulders, and took him all in with a soft smile playing onto her face.  Then, she sighed. This moment could not end so soon. But, knowing him, it would.

“Kori?” Dick mumbled, his voice groggy. He too, had just woken up.
“Right here.” Kori replied sweetly, and moved her hand back up higher and caressed his shoulder.
“Morning beautiful,” he said, his voice slightly clearer as he turned around to face the smiling princess. His hands slid across her narrow waist and locked atop the small of her bare back.
“Had a good sleep?” Dick questioned cheekily, despite knowing the answer. His… ‘sleep’ was the most amazing sleep he had ever had.
“Of course!” Kori beamed, her voice bright and chirpy and - different.

“Is something wrong?”
Kori instantly shook her head. She should have known he would suspect something was up. He was a pretty good detective after all.

“Oh really?” he persisted slyly.
“Yes, really.” Kori managed to utter, along with a somewhat calm face.
“Prove it.” Dick said with a smirk, and ran his fingers along her spine. He knew when she was lying, half awake or not. He knew how to make her tell the truth too.

Kori could not suppress her shiver at the touch of Dick’s nimble fingers. He was teasing her - not that she minded, of course. But he was teasing her to get answers - stupid answers that she refused to say.
“I have nothing to prove.” she stated rather matter of factly, returning the smirk.
“I beg to differ!”

Dick moved so fast that Kori almost didn’t notice him pinning her down until her arms were held above her head and her naked body became trapped beneath his.
“Richard!” Kori squealed in delight, unable to control her laughter. She needed to shut up if she didn’t want to disturb the other titans, but she couldn’t when Dick’s lips suddenly attacked her neck.

His kisses set her heart beating fast. In this position, Kori honestly had no idea what she was so worried about… he wouldn’t be doing this if he didn’t feel the same way, would he? perhaps he hadn’t heard her… she did say it pretty quietly, and not to mention she had trouble muttering it beneath his lips.

‘I love you,’  

She had said those very words only a few hours ago, and Dick didn’t say anything in return. All he did was eagerly push her onto the bed and continued to shower her with kisses and warmth.  Honestly, she had no idea how Dick truly felt for her, but she guessed he liked her more than what a normal friend would. Still, she would be lying if she said that she didn’t feel at least the tiniest bit hurt.  

But she was being stupid. She must be. He obviously wasn’t paying attention… it’s not his fault she was so quiet.

Or maybe he really doesn’t love you and was just using you Said a cruel voice from the back of Kori’s mind. She pushed the thought away, letting Dick’s continuous kisses pull her back to Earth. If Kori was certain about one thing, it was that he would never do anything like that. Still, she had to know why he hadn’t acknowledged the words she had said.

“D-Dick,” Kori stammered through a small fit of giggles. The kissing ceased.
“Do you surrender?” Dick asked, arching an eyebrow, as if he was daring her to. She only managed a giggle and a nod. Dick let go of her arms and collapsed to her side, their arms grazing against each other.
“Good, because I don’t think I could have kept eye contact for much longer.” he said with a smug smile. Kori rolled her eyes.
“So, what’s wrong?” he urged, turning so he lay on his side with his elbow pushed into the mattress and chin in hand, eyes still struggling to lock onto her face.

“N-nothing. I-I just wanted you to stop.” Kori lied.

She felt like kicking herself for being so stupid. She was too afraid to find out the truth!

“Kori,” Dick sighed, “What’s wrong?”

“Honestly, it’s nothing! I just didn’t want any bruises on my-“
“Is this about what you said last night?”

Kori froze. So, he had heard. No point lying now.
“Yes.”

Dick let out a long sigh. It was difficult to tell what he was feeling, and what he was going to say.
“I’m sorry about it,” Kori said in a rush, “It slipped out.” she hugged the bedsheets close to her chest and forced her gaze onto her knees. “I’m really sorry Dick-“
“Hey - don’t be-“
“I understand if you don’t want to be friends anymore.” she moved her arms around her legs and hugged them close to her chest, still avoiding eye contact. Dick was glad though, because he was sure the look he was most likely pulling would only confuse the princess even more. But not as much as what his next words would.

“Kori, you’re right, I don’t want to be friends anymore.” he said, only just managing to hold back a smile. Sometimes Kori’s ignorance could be fun. Sometimes. When she wasn’t bombarding him with questions.

“I understand…” she looked like she was on the verge of tears. Ok, maybe this isn’t so fun Dick thought, before rushing to explain what he actually meant.
“Kori, I was kidding! sorta…”
“Sorta?” she mumbled cautiously, slightly glaring at him. Ok, I’ve made a mistake. Note to self, do not mess with Kori’s ignorance.

“Y-yeah. Look, I want to be more than friends, okay?” he explained quickly, his voice shaking. Kori’s luminescent emerald eyes darted to his.
“More than friends?” Kori muttered, her face brightening. “As in a couple?!”
“Well, yeah.” Dick said, relieved. “We did just have sex, so…” the alien blushed at his words.

“I will happily be a couple!” she quickly beamed, all the negativity vanishing from her face faster than a blink of an eye. Then it quickly came back. “Does this mean you feel the same way about me?” she asked, her tone unusually cautious. Dick laughed and shook his head. He sometimes wondered how she could be so blind.
“Kori,” he said, “Of course I do. I always have. I’m actually surprised you didn’t know.”

She wasn’t fully convinced.
“Then why didn’t you say it back?” she queried suspiciously with a frown. Dick sighed. He felt like his fifteen year old self did when Kori first kissed him. Vulnerable. Not that that was necessarily bad, though.
“Well…” his hand raked through his hair in slight embarrassment. “I was kinda busy tearing your clothes off, and kissing you.”

Kori’s cheeks burned a deep deep red.
“Oh, yes. I guess that is somewhat a valid excuse.” she uttered quietly, annoyed at her ignorance… and still a tiny bit annoyed that he still hadn’t said it.

Dick could see her annoyance as clear as day.

“Hey, Kori,” he called when Kori began to sit up and swing her legs over the edge of the bed to stand. She paused and turned to him.
“Yes?”
“I love you too.”

Her frown slowly formed into a grin.
“I’m glad.”

The alien pushed herself off the bed, the sheets falling from her body and revealing her bare back as she stepped towards her pile of clothes laying on the floor. Dick only stared at her in awe for a few seconds until he realised what she was doing.
“You’re not leaving, are you?” he quickly asked and crawled to the edge of the bed towards her. She answered by picking up her underwear. That was a yes.

“Kori, don’t leave so soon. The sun only just came up!” Dick said, throwing his arm to the sunlight that barely seeped through the curtains. Kori tilted her head in confusion. Could she be wrong about it ending so soon?
“But sunrise is when you usually are awake and when you usually begin training, is it not?”
“Well, yeah… but I wasn’t planning to do that today…” he murmured grumpily, eyes locked onto the floor. He didn’t notice the princess drop the clothes and literally jump onto him until she flung her arms around his neck.
“Really?!”

Dick almost choked as her arms hugged him tighter and tighter, their torso’s pressed firmly against one another. He had fallen onto his back, with the princess on top of him. It was almost like he was the one being pinned down now.
“Y-yes, really.” he managed to spit out.
“Oh, good! that was one other thing that worried me. I am in no rush to end this so soon!” Kori said before realising what she was doing to the poor boy. She quickly unhooked her hands from his neck and rested them onto his toned chest that rose and fell repeatedly as the boy caught his breath.

“N-Neither am I.” said Dick,  “I’m sure we can sleep in for a little bit longer.”

Kori threw him a look. A very mischievous look.
“Sleep? but I am not tired.” she spoke in a tone that made Dick’s face go warm and fuzzy, along with other body parts. “Surely you aren’t tired too?”

Dick’s lips curled into a smirk, and his breathing returned to a relaxing pace.
“Well, I guess there’s no point going back to sleep now…”

Giggling and laughing quietly, the couple dragged each other underneath the bedsheets . The sheets didn’t do much to muffle the sound, unfortunately.
